The first appendix is an article on communicating with deaf and hearing-impaired patients. Appendix 2, the largest section in this manual, is an introduction to medical terminology. This self-instructional programmed material contains a selection of the most common prefixes, roots, and suffixes. Answers to all exercises appear at the bottom of the pages. Appendix 3 provides names and addresses of organizations in Ohio involved with emergency medical services. An overview of relevant Ohio legislation is contained in Appendix 4. Other contents of this module are a 22-page glossary of terms and a subject index to the 14 modules. (YLB)
