This manual offers practical guidelines for many of the concerns that parents have about their infants and toddlers. The manual is divided into seven chapters; each is written by an expert in the field of pediatrics, early childhood education, nutrition, or family care. The following areas are covered: (1) newborn and infant care; (2) growth and development from birth to age three; (3) nutrition for infants and toddlers; (4) medical and dental care; (5) minor illnesses and injuries; (6) minor hospitalizations; and (7) discipline. Following each chapter is a bibliography of resources. Eight appendices offer information on sterilization of bottles and nipples, daily guide to good eating, preparation of evaporated milk/formula, recipes for play dough and finger painting, finger plays and songs, child development record book for parents, books for parents and babies, and medication and medical equipment for the home.
