The Alberta Department of Education administers a Building Quality Restoration Program (BQRP) that provides provincial government financial support to assist school boards in the following categories of school improvement: structural, mechanical, electrical, code requirements, upgrading of vocational and industrial educational equipment, school modernization, vandalism (deterrents), site improvement, and other approved projects. Program guidelines describe the procedures required for support under this program and list the building elements, within the various categories, that are eligible for support and those that are not eligible. The appendixes contain outlines to assist in submissions for school modernization, sectional modernization, and aesthetic upgrading programs. A time chart, a funding approval flow chart, and various application forms are also provided. (MLF)
