Guidance: A Better Way!
Association of California School Administrators.
Descriptions of successful school counseling and guidance programs are offered as a resource for those responsible for developing or improving such programs. Following brief recommendations on program planning, one-page descriptions are presented for 54 California counseling and guidance programs. Each description includes the name, address, and telephone number of a contact person. The programs are divided into five categories: (1) elementary school; (2) middle school; (3) junior high school; (4) high school; and (5) all levels. A 32-item bibliography provides brief annotations to resources on comprehensive counseling and guidance programs, school climate, personal/social counseling, academic planning, and career planning. Appendices include the California State Board of Education policy on guidance and counseling and the Presenter's Guide for a slide/tape show intended to accompany this notebook. (DC)
