Blanco, Puerto Rican statesman (August 14); the passage of the Social Security Act (August 14); the birthday of Davy Crockett, frontiersman and Congressman (August 17); the birthday of Benjamin Harrison, 23rd President (August 20); the passage of Women's Suffrage, the 19th Amendment to the Constitution (August 26); and the birthday of Lyndon Baines Johnson, 36th President (August 27).
