Assessment of Baseline Curriculum (ABC). [Student Booklets and Teacher Manuals for Communications and Mathematics, Level 6].
Grobe, Robert P.; And Others
Assessment of Baseline Curriculum (ABC Tests) is a locally developed objectives-referenced assessment system that matches the Dallas Independent School System's Baseline Curriculum. Designed for instructional use and not for accountability, a major purpose of the ABC Test is to measure student attainment of objectives in the Mathematics and Communications Baseline Curricula. The assessment system consists of two major components: (1) a set of ABC test materials for grades 1-8, and (2) a scoring and reporting service. Test materials consist of students' booklets and teachers' manuals. Students' booklets assess all objectives that appear on the Student Progress Report. Teachers' manuals contain a description of ABC tests, an answer key, recommended minimum passing scores for each objective, and a copy of the student's booklet. The Scoring and Reporting Service, relying on a central computer, Student Progress Reports and Class Profiles to teachers when needed. Scantron scoring and hand scoring are additional options available to teachers. This document contains only sample booklets and manuals. (LC)
