A Practical Guide to Teaching Preschool Spanish.
Newton, Dianne Lynne
A curriculum for preschool Spanish instruction, consisting of a list of objectives, a pupil evaluation system, and 26 lesson plans, is presented. The curriculum is designed as an enrichment component for the preschool classroom and is best suited for four-year-old children who have already mastered the same concepts in English. The lessons utilize preschoolers' imitative capacity while recognizing the limitations of their analytic abilities. The curriculum should consist of five 20-minute sessions per week over a period of 15 weeks. By the end of the course, the pupils should be able to correctly identify a number of colors, family members, body parts, numbers, fruits, animals, verbs, emotions, and expressions. (RW)
