Project: "Teach 'n' Reach" Affective Domain: Self-Concept, Attitude. (Book 1 out of 4.)
Kagan, Arleen
The second of five volumes (and the first of the four curriculum guides) which make up Project Teach 'n' Reach, designed to help regular classroom teachers teach nondisabled children about disabilities, focuses on the affective domain. The volume presents goals, performance objectives, and activity ideas (along with information on materials and resources) for both self-concept and attitude topics. Among the self-concept factors addressed are feelings of self-worth and self-acceptance, and awareness and acceptance of differences. The section on attitudes deals with such topics as development of positive attitudes towards others, decisionmaking, understanding of similarities and differences in individuals, friendship, attitudes toward the disabled, knowledge of likes and dislikes, understanding of the power of labels, and stereotypes of disabled persons.
