Towards a Handbook for Technical Assisters on Information Utilization. Documentation and Technical Assistance in Urban Schools.
This preliminary handbook, part of the Chicago Documentation and Technical Assistance Project, has been developed to inform technical assisters about information sources and information utilization procedures that might be useful in their efforts to link educational research with practice. The document is divided into two main sections. Section one describes the various sources of available information, including project staff members and bodies of research, to which Chicago Technical Assistance Region members may have access. A major part of such information consists of case studies from the nine participating technical assistance project sites. The second section provides for effectively using the various bodies of information, including these case studies. Appended to the paper are sample data collection and documentation forms. (GC)
