A summary of 1981-82 Title I funded educational projects carried out in the State of Georgia is provided in this annual report. Data in the report are based on a reporting sample of one-third of the State's participating school districts, and lead to the following information. (1) More than 57,000 Georgia school children participated in regular school year Title I reading and mathematics programs and 3,000 students participated in summer programs. (2) Nearly 90 percent of the teachers, instructional aides, curriculum specialists, and other support personnel involved in the programs received inservice training. (3) Parent Advisory Councils participated in project planning, implementation, and evaluation and served as volunteers in the schools. (5) The majority of migrant students met or exceeded program objectives.
