Mathematics in the Working World. A High School Course Especially Developed for VESS Students. Vocational Education for Special Students.
Iowa Central Community College, Fort Dodge.; Arrowhead Area Education Agency, Fort Dodge, IA. Learning Research Center.
This publication, one of four academic courses developed for the Vocational Education for Special Students (VESS) program, is designed to serve those handicapped or disadvantaged students who need an alternative form of an academic curriculum to complete their local high school program. The course is to be taught in conjunction with a vocational education work experience program developed in cooperation with a local community college. This applied mathematics curriculum is designed to be offered on an individual basis. It includes a description of the course organization, course outline, and four course objectives. For each objective, tasks, learning activities, and resources are listed, along with space for the instructor/work experience leader to evaluate the students. A bibliography completes the package.
