This guide outlines the procedures for organizing and implementing STAR Event competitions held for members of the Kentucky Future Homemakers of America. (An acronym for the phrase "students taking action with recognition," the term STAR event refers to regional contests dealing with the skills taught in vocational home economics programs.) Covered in the individual sections of the guide are the following topics: the overall organization of STAR events, general rules for STAR events, duties of state and regional STAR events coordinators, instructions for specific STAR events chairpersons, general instructions for judges, presentation of awards, and instructions for STAR events participants. Instructions, application forms, and rating sheets are provided for the chapter activities event, the illustrated talk event, and the job application and interview event.
