Scope and Sequence for Upper Primary Grades. Comprehensive School Mathematics Program.
Armstrong, Richard; And Others
The Comprehensive School Mathematics Program (CSMP) curriculum is structured in spiral form so that students will have continuing exposure to each content area throughout the program. This approach makes the presentation radically different from scope and sequence approaches commonly provided in commercial textbooks. The document is divided into four main parts: (1) The World of Numbers; (2) Probability, Statistics, and Graphing Data; (3) Problem Solving and Logical Thinking; and (4) Geometry. From the variety of activities that can occur during a year, activities viewed to exemplify a particular topic or sub-topic were identified. The material attempts to identify entries by main content area, topic, and sub-topic. (MP)
