This series of 20 appendices provides data and background information resulting from a study of the educational programs offered for the Florida State Correctional System. In addition to various letters, memoranda, and tables documenting aspects of the study, the volume presents: (1) the text of the Florida law mandating the study; (2) directories of the institutions in the Florida Department of Corrections, community college service regions, and area vocational schools; (3) 1981-82 class enrollments by program areas for correctional facilities and community colleges providing inmate education; (4) statistics on full- and part-time employees involved in inmate education by position and agency; (5) the characteristics of the tests used in the educational evaluation of inmates; (6) an evaluation instrument designed to assess correctional education activities; (7) Miami-Dade Community College enrollment data for Dade County jail facilities; (8) an organizational chart for the Bureau of Staff Development; (9) a map of correctional officer training centers; (10) a table showing training opportunities by subject and providing agency; (11) an assessment of the programs offered by the divisions of corrections at community colleges, area vocational schools, and correctional facilities; and (12) an assessment of community college costs for inmate education in 1981-82.
