What's It Really Like Teaching Gifted Students?
Chasteen, Betty
The author describes some of the characteristics of gifted students, and considers components of effective gifted programs. Noted among student characteristics are a heightened awareness of the world, openness about feelings and emotions, curiosity, imagination, and independence in thinking. The author feels that gifted programs should include use of community resources, direct exposure to experts, group and individual conferences to explore feelings, and parent support. (SW)
