This teaching guide contains guidelines for conducting five secondary-level marketing cluster courses--Retailing 102, Promotions 202, Relations in Business 202, Management 302, and Marketing Practicum 302. Covered first are goals and objectives, teachers' notes and suggested activities, lists of suggested materials, and guidelines for correlating course content with supported materials. Addressed in the retailing course are checker/cashier operations; receiving and marketing merchandise; analyzing target markets; and displays, buying, and pricing. Various aspects of promotions are examined, including color, lettering, and design; advertising; special promotional activities; display; and customer services. Dealt with in the business relations course are personality; communication; employer/employee, customer/salesperson, and buyer/vendor relationships. Among the management principles treated are objectives, ethics, decision making, functions of management, planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and leadership. The marketing practicum includes materials on planning, organizing, directing, and controlling goals as well as with various practicum delivery systems. A bibliography, handbook of forms, and transparency masters conclude the guide. (MN)
