Faculty Evaluation System: Teaching Faculty.
Saint Louis Community Coll., MO.
This manual provides a series of forms and instruments and outlines the procedures used by St. Louis Community College in its annual evaluation of instructional faculty performance. First, general information is provided in lists of the performance indicators and other criteria upon which the assessments of teachers, counselors, and instructional resources staff are based. Next, a number of indicators of professional development are listed; levels of satisfactory and unsatisfactory achievement are defined; and notes are provided on the review process and schedule for the implementation of the annual faculty evaluation. After procedures for completing the annual faculty evaluation summary are explained, forms are provided and the process is outlined for the evaluation of teaching faculty effectiveness through student evaluations (which are summarized for each class and for all class sections); a self-documentation of effectiveness; a classroom visitation report and summary assessment; faculty choice indicators reflecting plans for professional development during the next year; level of performance in relation to other required criteria, such as attendance at meetings and membership in professional associations; and the evaluation of the instructional faculty member by the Division Dean.
