Project Optimus/Outreach: End of Year Progress Report.

The document contains the end of year progress report for Project Optimus/Outreach, which provided technical assistance or early intervention and the transdisciplinary process to academic and medical personnel serving special needs children and their families. Reported are training activities carried out at 11 sites and replication assistance at 8 sites. Evaluation activities are noted as including evaluation of each training session by participants, assessment of participants' level of knowledge about the transdisciplinary approach, and evaluation of how many of the training concepts were actually used. Cited among findings are that social workers and speech therapists gave the most positive responses and the psychologists and aides gave the least positive; participants showed excellent gains on the Skills Test; and participants used the transdisciplinary concepts in their service delivery to young handicapped children.
