Designed to help teachers provide students with various word processing skills, this teacher's guide contains nine units of instruction. The units address various skills that are prerequisite for entry-level word processing positions, including concepts and theories of word processing, language usage, mathematics, machine transcription and dictation, proofreading, and using resources and references. Included in each unit are the following materials: (1) an objective sheet, containing unit and specific objectives along with listings of subject material to be covered and the competencies required by students to achieve the unit objective; (2) a notes-to-the-instructor sheet, providing suggestions for gathering reference materials and supplies, designing and ordering visual aids, arranging for field trips and/or guest speakers, and presenting the information; (3) information sheets that are applicable for group or individualized instruction; (4) transparency masters; (5) activity sheets; (6) answer sheets; and (7) unit tests.
