The reviews, listed by publisher and book title, discuss Indian-subject content, content quality, and possible supplemental material. Units cover six major Indian culture areas (Northeast, Southeast, Plains, Southwest, Pacific Northwest, and Alaska), food resources, and general classroom activities. Each unit contains overview information concerning the particular culture area; a culture area map with major tribal groups; an activity number and title; suggested grade level and instructional goals; number of students; time involved; vocabulary; a cross-reference to the text activity guide; skills and materials used in the activity; description of the method used to conduct the activity; an illustration or pattern, if necessary; a special word-sound box for kindergarten; suggested discussion questions for all grades; and background information for teachers.
