Self and Ideal Self of Learning Disabled Children--A Preliminary Study.
Arnoni, Gila; And Others
Ten learning disabled (LD) and 10 nonLD 10 to 11 year old children were administered the Bledsoe Self Concept Scale twice: first they were asked to respond in terms of how they perceive themselves and second, as how they would like to be. Contrary to hypotheses, results indicated that LD and nonLD Ss did not differ significantly in self concept or in congruence between self and ideal self concepts. (A 12 page review of the literature on self concept preceeds the account of the study.) (CL)
