Fast Paced Mathematics Project. Final Evaluation Report.

Kanawha County Schools' replication of the Johns Hopkins Fast Paced Mathematics program has completed its first year of implementation. This program is an alternative that speeds up the rate of learning for mathematically gifted students to a pace that is consistent with their capabilities. The program served eighth grade students. The main purposes of this study are: (1) to determine if product objectives were attained; (2) to examine other indicators of project effectiveness; (3) to provide information that will be helpful in planning the 1981-82 program; and (4) to collect baseline data concerning student attitude toward mathematics.
