It's Your Move: Expressive Movement Activities for the Language Arts Class.
Blatt, Gloria T.; Cunningham, Jean
Noting that children can best respond to literature through the arts--drawing, acting, writing, or dancing--this book provides teachers with a variety of activities for developing and using physical movement in the context of the language arts and literature curricula in the elementary school. Following a brief introduction examining expressive movement, the three chapters in the first section of the book discuss planning the movement lesson, light and sound effects, and language arts objectives. The three chapters in the second part of the book contain ten improvisation lessons for use with primary school students and ten for use with intermediate grade students, and discuss ways to share the expressive movements with audiences.
