This manual is designed to be used by individuals being trained to deliver courses developed within the National Training System of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). The guide provides resources essential to understanding course content, and provides materials to enable participants to be actively involved in the learning exercises. The manual is divided into 10 modules focusing on: (1) adult learning theory; (2) small group process-the learning environment; (3) trainer style; (4) cultural considerations in training; (5) methods and media used in course delivery; (6) the processing of learning experiences; (7) interventions to enhance learning; (8) adaptions of training packages; (9) practica; and (10) formal and informal evaluations.
