This guide expresses the philosophy, goals, and objectives, and outlines the scope and sequence of Ilocano language instruction at various levels for the public schools of Hawaii. It serves as a resource document for the teacher of Ilocano in that it identifies essential skills, suggests areas of emphasis, points out possible problem areas, and proposes solutions to those problems. It also presents a short history of the Ilocano langua de, its phonology and grammar, selected language teaching and evaluation strategies, and an outline of the curriculum for Levels I and II.
