Television for Certain Handicapped Children--Phase 1: Improving the Effectiveness of TV Programmes for Certain Handicapped Children.
Tucker, John D.
The report considers ways of using television for instruction of blind, partially sighted, deaf, and hard of hearing children (5 to 16 years old). The introductory section reviews characteristics associated with the four types of handicapping conditions. The use of videorecorders, captioned programs, and closed circuit television is considered. Recommended equipment requirements and modifications are made, including adaptations of the color television receiver, slow scan replay equipment, lip shaped waveform display, and a braille transducer.
