Designing a Special Education Child Study System for Preschool Emotionally Disturbed Children.
Dodge, Gordon R.
The paper discusses some of the basic issues involved in providing child identification, screening, and assessment services for preschool emotionally disturbed children. Attention is given to the public school's concerns as to what constitutes an emotional disorder, what role the school district can take in finding and assessing children with emotional disorders, and what some of the current approaches are in that regard. Recommendations are also given as to some ways of improving screening and assessment methods with preschool emotionally disturbed children. (Author)
