Youth in Psychoeducational Services Program. Final Report.
Arline, Marline; And Others
The report documents findings of a program for 13 severely emotionally disturbed adolescents in which student academic and behavioral intervention was stressed. Among findings were that the average annual cost per student was 37% of the cost of residential treatment; and that increases were shown in reading, spelling, and arithmetic as measured on the Wide Range Achievement Test and the Peabody Individual Achievement Test. Sections of the report are devoted to such topics as background and project objectives, external evaluation design, results of evaluation, areas to which services were directed, and evaluation recommendations. Nearly one half the document is composed of five appendixes, including descriptions of curriculum activities, analysis of attendance, and a summary of assessments for behavior change. (CL)
