The Saskatoon Region Project: Provision of Educational Services to Children with Special Needs in Rural and Sparsely Populated Regions. Part II: The SEECC Pre-School Project.
McLeod, John; And Others
This final report contains information on the Saskatoon Pre-School Project, which was part of a more comprehensive research and development project designed to develop effective services for educationally handicapped children in rural areas around Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (Canada). One chapter of the report provides an account of the planning, implementation, and results of the preschool intervention. Another chapter describes in greater depth the preservice training program for the "parent partners" who were the vital element in the project. This chapter is intended to serve as a blueprint for anyone who might wish to set up an early intervention program along similar lines. A third chapter summarizes experiences during the project that have potential implications for modifications of any future parent partner preservice training programs. Appendixes provide examples of materials and forms used in the program. Lists of references are also included. (RL)
