Summarized in this report are the methodology and findings of building investigations, computer simulations and assessments of possible energy conservation strategies at P. F. Brown Elementary School, Lubbock, Texas. For each recommendation, the initial cost, annual savings, and payback years are presented. This analysis is a component of the initial phase of the five-part Saving Schoolhouse Energy Project initiated by the American Association of School Administrators and partially supported by the Federal Energy Administration. Emphasis in these engineering studies is upon the cost effectiveness of retrofitting schools, primarily with "off-the-shelf" hardware. (WB)
