Speech in the Classroom: Assessment Instruments.

A packet of three speech assessment instruments has been organized to assist classroom teachers in creating instructional programs that provide adequate oral/aural language experiences for their students. The Koziol-Cercone Assessment of Speaking Skills judges student ability to orally communicate the content of a message. The Koziol-Cercone Inventory of Classroom Speaking Experiences (Forms A and B) alerts classroom teachers to instructional strategies that involve students in oral communication experiences. The Koziol-Cercone Survey of Attitudes toward Classroom Speaking Situations (Forms A and B) helps teachers understand student feelings about participating in oral activities.
