The Job Application Form: Capsule 1, 2, and 3. Teacher's Guide [and] Student Materials.
Bates, Jane K.
This document provides teaching guidelines and student material for a unit intended for use in high school business, consumer, or career education programs. The objective is to teach students to analyze job application forms in terms of their life situations. A prerequisite is the possession of some business letter writing skills. The document is presented in three capsules which emphasize learning to recognize the appropriate form to use when completing a job application form. Students fill in the various parts of the application form, including personal information, educational experiences, appropriate references, work experience, and closing statements. It also stresses the importance of personal data cards and focuses on possible problem areas. Twenty activities include working crossword puzzles, making bulletin boards, role playing, drawing cartoons, analyzing the various parts of the form, finding important information, listing organizations, writing business letters, matching, and composing closing statements. Each capsule has an accompanying teacher's guide which provides advance preparation information, keys to activities and tests, a bibliography, and copies of all worksheets and assessments. (CK)
