Exchange of Educational Information: A Means of Further Advancement of European Cooperation in the Field of Education. Proceedings of the European Colloquium: (EDICO-2, Bratislava, Czechoslovakia, July 12-15, 1977).
Lihocky, Julius, Ed.
The goal of this second EDICO colloquium was to evaluate the development of innovation processes and information systems in UNESCO member countries, including the identification of the most significant areas for the exchange of educational information, and the discussion of possibilities for joint action in the future. The mission of EDICO-2 was to contribute to the creation of a better network of educational information centers, to cooperate in information exchange, and to the solution of common problems of a theoretical or practical nature. The 57 reports and discussion papers included may be divided into two types: those presenting experience gained in building information systems and developing information activities concerned with extending international contacts in the area of education and schooling set up by individual countries since the first colloquium in 1974, and papers describing the present state of educational information and assessing possibilities for further national and international development. Participants included 25 invited specialists from 21 countries and observers from UNESCO, Council for Mutual Assistance, Council of Europe 20, and institutions and nongovernmental organizations.
