What's Happening with Instructional Development and Media? A Research Project.
Osterman, Dean N.
Generated by the need to ascertain the involvement of media centers and instructional development centers in training faculty and providing assistance in instructional design, development, and evaluation, this study was undertaken to determine: (1) the identification of those individuals at colleges and universities nationwide who are involved in faculty and instructional development programs, (2) the services and direction offered by each program, and (3) the relationships of the development program to other institutional programs that support teaching and learning. This report is divided into eight sections: an introduction, a discussion of instructional development and media, the transmission of instructional innovation to faculty via a faculty development project, the instructional development questionnaire, analysis and implications, final comments, a directory of respondents, and references. Appendices include a memorandum and a copy of the questionnaire. (FM)
