Seattle University: On the Threshold of the Eighties. A Five-Year Planning Report.
Seattle Univ., WA.
A portrait of Seattle University is drawn in this first of a series of annual reports to the president and trustees on the progress of the formal, comprehensive, and systematic, systematic planning process at Seattle University, a process begun in 1975. Focus is on five areas: enrollment, academic programs, personnel, finance, and facilities and campus development. Three elements are interrelated in the planning process: the mission, the environment, and the present condition of the university. Chapters include: the misslon statement of Seattle University; parameters for planning derived from the mission statement; historical and current portrait of the university and directions through 1984; and directions for future planning. Tables, maps, and appendices provide information on areas such as forecasts of total enrollment, financial projection (FY 80-FY 84), budget surplus (deficit), city zoning, environmental assumptions, building-by-building analysis, and impact analysis/planning goals and strategic options. A brief history of planning for Seattle University and a preamble are offered as introductory material. This fact book was an award winner at the 1980 Annual Forum of the Association for Institutional Research. (LC)
