Report for Florida Community Colleges, 1977-78.
Florida State Dept. of Education, Tallahassee. Div. of Community Colleges.
Focusing on the goals, organization, characteristics, and financial status of the Florida community colleges, this report attempts to answer the questions most frequently asked by legislators, state agencies, external agencies, citizens, administrators, faculty, and students. Introductory sections describe the Florida public community college system's history, commitment to providing comprehensive post-secondary education within commuting distance of all citizens, governance structure, and goals. Material on financial support, articulation, and legislative regulations pertaining to the establishment of occupational, adult, and community education programs is then presented. The bulk of the report consists of 22 data tables which review, among other items, Fall 1977 opening enrollment by class, program, and first-time, returning, or transfer status; annual full-time equivalent enrollment by term and discipline; annual headcount enrollment in occupational, developmental, and community service programs; dual enrollment and early admissions; semester hours attempted and earned; annual salaries for full-time instructional and non-instructional personnel; fringe benefits for faculty; revenues and receipts for current funds; educational and general expenditures; plant fund expenditures; and direct costs of instruction. A community college information classification structure and a glossary of terms are appended. (JP)
