Technology, Higher Education, and the Demand for Technological Artefacts to the Year 2001.
McAleese, Ray
This report analyzes the impact that technology has made on higher education in Australia, estimates the likely demand for technology by higher education in the future, raises a number of issues that derive from the impact that technology is having on society as well as on higher education, and makes recommendations on setting up bodies charged with the critical scrutiny of such impact. In this context, the present state of the art is examined and assumptions are developed that will determine the demand for technology. Diagrams depicting those factors influencing the impact of technology, the demand for it, and the prognosis for its use in future educational ventures under an open educational philosophy are included.
