Each unit follows a typical format that includes the unit rationale, goals, performance objectives, entry-level assessment, suggested instructional materials (including books, films, and filmstrips), and instructional strategy. The instructional strategy section contains nine lessons designed to encourage students to examine and become aware of themselves and their environment. Each lesson is comprised of the following sections: purpose, materials, introduction, class activities, and summary activity. Task cards are appended.
