Project CHOICE: #22. A Career Education Unit for Junior High School. Career Center Activities (with Subject Area Task Cards). (A Link to All Twelve Career Clusters).
Kern County Superintendent of Schools, Bakersfield, CA.
This junior high teaching unit, Career Center Activities, is one in a series of career guidebooks developed by Project CHOICE (Children Have Options in Career Education) to provide the classroom teacher with a source of career-related activities linking classroom experiences with the world of work. The unit follows a typical format that includes the rationale, goals, performance objectives, instructional strategy, evaluation, and suggested instructional materials (including books, films, and filmstrips). The remainder of the unit is divided into two parts. Part 1 contains a variety of interest inventories, worksheets, and evaluation forms. Part 2 consists of a collection of individualized task cards grouped by subject/content area to guide students in identifying individual vocational interests. This is one of five units in the series applicable to all twelve career clusters. (For other junior high units see CE 025 738-765.) (LRA)
