Becoming Sex Fair. The Tredyffrin/Easttown Program. A Comprehensive Model for Public School Districts. Stage One Manual: Preparing for Change.
Calabrese, Marylyn E.; And Others
This manual, one of four related documents, is the first stage in a sex fairness program implemented in the Tredyffrin/Easttown School District (Pennsylvania). Section 1 helps a school district's coordinating committee study district needs for sex fairness. It illustrates how to define needs by gathering pertinent information and how to establish both sex fairness guidelines and an implementation plan based on those needs. Copies of guidelines and self-evaluation checklists are included. Section 2 outlines a workshop conducted by a steering committee to help administrators understand their role in the program. Section 3 contains readings that explain how the processes of socialization and change relate to sex fairness in education. An annotated bibliography is included. (Author/LD)
