Need for and development and role of advisory committees are discussed in chapter 3. Chapter 4 provides suggestions for organizing instructional and resource materials, developing a filing system, and arranging and decorating the classroom. Chapter 5 presents alternate instructional methods, such as career study tours, career day/week, and guest speakers. Chapter 6, materials for classroom management, includes a basic course outline, unit teaching time schedule, and lesson planning guide. Chapter 7 contains basic education information, including requirements for high school graduation and descriptions of Texas vocational programs. Chapters 8 and 9 discuss issues related to working with handicapped students and offer guidelines and suggestions for eliminating sexism in the classroom.
