Evaluation: The Key to Program Effectiveness.
Liebertz, Skip; Hansen, Greg
This manual is designed to help staff, administrators, and advisory councils evaluate the effectiveness of their community school programs. The development of questionnaires to be used in the Salem, Oregon community schools is described, and applications of the six-component evaluation model are briefly discussed. The bulk of this document consists of the questionnaires, which involve the following components: (1) integration of community resources into the required school curriculum (completed by teachers); (2) extended use of school facilities (coordinators and school staff); (3) enrichment program for youth (elementary and secondary school students); (4) enrichment program for adults (community); (5) coordination and cooperation with other agencies; and (6) citizen involvement (community and community school advisory council). A questionnaire designed to solicit comments on the evaluation instruments is also included. (Author/GDC)
