Contained within this Health Activities Project (HAP) trial edition (set III) are a teacher information folio and numerous student activity folios which center around the idea that students in grades 5-8 can control their own health and safety. Each student folio is organized into an Overview, Health Background, Materials, Setting Up, and Activities section. Worksheets are also included for completing the activities for that particular folio topic. Examples of folio topics and activities include: using the yellow pages of a telephone directory to find health resources in the community, identifying habits that students would like to break and then monitoring progress in changing the habit, discussing the appeal of a product and using a variety of appeals to create personal ads, selecting lunch from a menu and assessing nutrients in the foods chosen.
