Reactions of FESEND Recommendations: The Financing of Elementary and Secondary Education in North Dakota. "The FESEND Project."

This report contains a summary of reactions to recommendations that are contained in the report, "A General Report--The Financing of Elementary and Secondary Education in North Dakota." Opinions were solicited at eight hearings across the state from over 200 North Dakota citizens interested in promoting equity in educational finance programs. At these hearings, participants analyzed, evaluated, and reacted to 46 recommendations that had been developed by a study group. The reactions are reported in the book by geographic area, high school size, role of lay citizens versus professional educators, as well as by all participants in general. Results indicated a consistency of response among respondents and substantial agreement with recommendations. Numerous tables are offered together with a copy of the questionnaire. (Author/LD)
