This paper provides introductory material for a teacher workshop on the importance of teacher clarity in controlling disruptive behavior in young students. The main thrust is that a teacher must set forth his or her limits on behavior clearly and simply in order for a student to begin setting his or her own limits and thus become self-directed. Sample lesson plans from the workshop are included. (LH)
