Interorganizational Structures as Educational Networks.
Smith, Louis M.
This report provides a case study of a deliberately created interorganizational and political network among a national R&D center producing a new elementary curriculum in the arts, a state political structure including a state department of education with a multi-arts section and a governor committed publicly to broadening the children's education in the arts, several colleges and universities, and some local school districts scattered across the state. The report includes a discussion of research procedures, a description and analysis of the comprehensive plan for aesthetic education and the year of its implementation, a brief description of a subsequent network of aesthetic education centers, and a discussion of the case study's implications for other educational networks.
