Sex Role Stereotyping in Children's Literature: A Selective Bibliography. Bibliography Series 2.
Rockman, Ilene F., Comp.
This bibliography was prepared to make adults aware of the conscious and unconscious messages contained in children's books. The listings are based on the collection at the California Polytechnic State University library. Part One is an annotated bibliography of juvenile books that display positive role models for children in preschool to grade three, grades four to six, and grades six and above. Part Two is an integrated listing of adult-level books, journal articles, and ERIC documents about the role and influence of books in the lives of children. The works are listed alphabetically by author. Part One covers the years 1934-1976, while Part Two covers 1970-1978. A cumulative subject index is included. (RL)
