Creating a Desirable Educational System.
Theobald, Robert
If the educational system and its present directions require fundamental change, then the past system must be understood and the future assessed. The industrial era'a mechanistic and hierarchical views do not match today's inter-related, subjective, risky world. To meet these challenges additional world factors and policy analyses must be analyzed and decisions made. The future requires diversity, learning ability, decision-making, creativity, and situation assessment. Education must be life-long, integrated into the community, individualized to match the learner, and controlled by the community. A linkage system, Future Frontiers, has been created to assist in the shift between the past industrial era and the new communications era, and attempts to maintain the quality of life under the impact of rapid growth.
