Investigative Procedures of the Office for Civil Rights.
Liveritte, Rudy H.
The information presented in this booklet concerns both the procedures used by the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) to investigate complaints of discrimination in the public schools (specifically those in Idaho), and the rights of local school people who become involved in such an investigation. An overview of the investigative process and detailed information about each of the steps involved in the process are provided. The responsibilities and legal rights of Idaho school administrators involved in an OCR investigation are described. Taken into consideration is the potential impact of an investigation on the school district. A list of records that might be requested of a district by the OCR as a first step in a compliance review is included. (EB)
