Tabular Summary of the Third Follow-Up Questionnaire Data. Volume 1 [and] Volume 2 [and] Volume 3 [and] Volume 4. Sponsored Report Series NCES 79-228.
Peng, Samuel S.; And Others
Tabular summaries of the 153 numerical responses to the Second Followup Questionnaire items of the National Longitudinal Study of the High School Class of 1972 are presented--20,872 individuals responded. These items summarize participants' educational experiences and occupational attainments from October 1973 to October 1974; continuing or revised plans about education, training, military service, and jobs; and aspirations, attitudes, and opinions. Results are given for the total sample as well as for subpopulations defined by the following classification variables: sex, race, ability, socioeconomic status (SES), high school curriculum, geographical region, sex-by-race, sex-by-ability, sex-by-SES, sex-by-high school program, sex-by-region, race-by-ability, race-by-SES, race-by-high school program, and race-by-region. Actual and weighted subpopulation sizes are presented along with the percent distributions of responses for each item for these classification variables. The percentages are based upon valid responses only; invalid responses are defined by a standard error code and are presented separately. Responses were weighted to express results as population estimates, and to estimate the sampling reliability. (The Third Followup Questionnaire is included.) (Author/CP)
